Vida Yao is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Rice University. Her research focus is at the intersection of ethics and moral psychology. She works on agency (in particular, cases of “failed” agency), the emotions (in particular, cases of “irrational” emotions), and rationality. Her published work focuses on phenomena such as weakness of will, and boredom. She teaches SWGS/PHIL 111: Introduction to Feminist Philosophy.
